Doctor Edwin B. "Ted" Erickson, III, born May 18, 1938, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; son of Edwin B. II and Ruth Erickson; Haverford High School, 1956; Albright College, B.S., biology, chemistry, 1960; Bryn Mawr College, Ph.D., biochemistry, microbiology, 1969; teacher, Drexel University, East Stroudsburg State College, 1962-1969; tenured, Assistant Professor of Biology, Hamilton College, 1969-1973; Director, Upper Darby of Public Health, 1973-1976; Chief Administrative Officer of Upper Darby Township, 1976-1982; elected, member, Delaware County Council, 1982-1989; chairman, Delaware County Council, 1987-1989; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 2001-2014 elected, Majority Policy Chairman, 2010-2014; married Katherine J. Abele Erickson, son, Jonathan Erickson; died, Newtown, January 8, 2019. Burial location unknown.

Early Career:

Teacher, general biology, anatomy, physiology, cell physiology, zoology, Drexel University, East Stroudsburg State College, 1962-1969. Tenured Assistant Professor of Biology at Hamilton College (1969-1973) in microbiology, biochemistry and general biology. 

Director, Upper Darby of Public Health, 1973-1976. Chief Administrative Officer of Upper Darby Township, 1976-1982. 

Regional Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region III, 1989-1992. Responsible for a workforce of approximately 1,000 people, oversaw environmental standards in a region covering Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, District of Columbia.
