a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., July 31, 1937; graduated, Crafton High School, 1955; attended, Carnegie Tech and Pittsburgh Playhouse, 1955-1956; served, United States Navy (1956-1958); employed, David Lawrence’s gubernatorial campaign (1959); sales management and public relations (20 years); employed, industrial waste treatment (1965); member, Allegheny County Democratic Committee (16 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1980; reelected to 13 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (1991-2008); appointed, Joint State Government Commission’s Task Force and Advisory Committee on the Kilbuck Township Landslide; not a candidate for reelection to the House (2008); died, August 5, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Resurrection Cemetery, Coraopolis, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
