FICHTER, John W., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in West Conshohocken, Montgomery County, Pa., January 2, 1935; graduated, Norristown High School, 1952; B.B.A., business administration, Ursinus College, 1976; sergeant first class, 322nd Medical Depot, United States Army Reserve (1957-1962); marketing representative, Eagle Systems, Inc.; member, Vacancy Board, East Norriton Township; member, East Norriton Planning Commission (1965-1970); auditor, East Norriton Township (1970-1984); member, East Norriton Board of Supervisors (8 years; chair, 4 years); member, Republican State Committee (1980-1992); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term; reelected to serve 6 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee on Pharmaceuticals (2000); appointed, Select Committee on Information Security (2006); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 2007 term; died, February 11, 2014 in East Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
