NISBET, William W., A Representative from Allegheny County; born in Freeport, Armstrong County, Pa., April 15, 1846; attended, Galbraiths and Leechburg Academies; attended, Duff’s Business College; proprietor, drug store; elected, council, Pittsburgh (1874-1885); elected, Pittsburgh Fire Commission (1885); member, central board of education, Pittsburgh (9 years); elected, delegate, Republican State Conventions (1880, 1882, 1897); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1899 and 1901 terms; resigned from the House, September 3, 1901; appointed, director, Pittsburgh Department of Charities and Corrections (1901-1902); died, February 13, 1920 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Freeport Cemetery, Freeport, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
