MAGEE, William Addison, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, March 31, 1855 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; graduated, Phillips Academy, Andover, Ma.; attended, University of Pittsburgh; major, Pennsylvania National Guard; clerk, office of the board of revision of taxes, Allegheny County (1874-1878);  elected, common council, Pittsburgh (1881-1902); appointed, chief clerk, Allegheny County Controller’s Office (1882); secretary, treasurer and vice-president, Pittsburgh Times (1885-1906); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1909 and 1911 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; died, May 14, 1917 in Atlantic City, Atlantic County, New Jersey; interred, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
