HOSACK, George Mechlin, Sr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, Dayton, Armstrong County, Pa. on October 7, 1866; graduated, Connellsville High School, 1886; LL.B., University of Michigan, 1891; law clerk; lawyer (1891-1941); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1897 term; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; chair, Oleo Investigation; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1902); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor (1905); director, St. Francis Hospital; died, January 19, 1941 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
