GEARHART, Dr. Jesse Beaver, a Representative from Montour County Pa.; born in Danville, Montour County, Pa., October 23, 1868; graduated, Danville High School; D.D.S., University of Pennsylvania, 1892; major, 12th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1895-1908); battalion adjutant, 12th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (Spanish-American War, 1898); major, dental surgeon supervisor, 78th Infantry Division, United States Army (1917-1918, World War I); major, dental section, Officers Reserves Corps, United States Army; dentist; unsuccessful campaign as a Washington Party candidate to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1916); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1920; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1922); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Danville (1928-1931); died, January 20, 1931 in Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Vernon Cemetery, Riverside, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
