BUXTON, Ronald I., a Representative from Dauphin County; born, March 29, 1949 in Steelton, Dauphin County, Pa.; graduated, Susquehanna Township High School, 1967; A.S., Harrisburg Area Community College, 1971; deputy director for community development, Harrisburg; elected, commissioner, Susquehanna Township (1971-1979; president, 1978-1979); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1980); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1993 term; reelected to 9 more consecutive terms; elected, Majority Caucus Administrator (2009-2012); appointed, Select Committee for Open-Heart Surgery (1996); appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) (2001-2008); appointed, Select Committee on Information Security (2006); appointed, Capitol Preservation Committee (2009-2012); appointed, Select Committee on Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Inclusion (2009); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2012); appointed, Dauphin County Redevelopment Authority (2013-2015); died, June 18, 2021 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
