KENNEY, George T., Jr., a Representative from Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., October 29, 1957; graduated, LaSalle High School; B.S., LaSalle College, 1982; pharmaceutical sales, McNeil Pharmaceutical; treasurer and leader, 58th Ward Republican Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1984; reelected to 11 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee on Rules Review (1993); appointed, vice-chair, Select Committee for Open-Heart Surgery (1996); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (1997-2002); appointed, Legislative Commission on Restructuring Pennsylvania's Urban Schools (1997); appointed, co-chair, Select Committee Investigating the Integration of Human Rights Standards in Pennsylvania Laws and Policies (2002, 2004); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2008); elected, alternate delegate, Republican National Convention (2008); assistant vice president, government affairs, Health Sciences, Temple University (2010-present).
