CIVERA, Mario J., Jr., a Representative from Delaware County; born, June 19, 1946 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Upper Darby High School, 1965; attended, Temple University; attended, Delaware County Community College; Polley Associates for Real Estate Fundamentals; staff sergeant, United States Air Force (1966); self-employed businessman (1971-1980); elected, board of commissioners, Upper Darby (1975-1992); committee member, Upper Darby Republican Party; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election on March 11, 1980 to serve the remaining 1979 term; Sworn-In, April 8, 1980 and reelected to 15 more consecutive terms; elected, Majority Caucus Secretary (April 15, 2003-January 24, 2004); elected, chair, Majority Policy Committee (January 24, 2004-2006); elected, chair, Minority Appropriations Committee (2007-2010); appointed, co-chair, Select Committee on Public Education Funding (2001-2002); resigned from the House, April 30, 2010; elected, Delaware County Council (2010-present).
