BAKER, John J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, March 21, 1893 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Parochial High School and Business College; attended, Curry College; engaged as a salesman and in the meat business (17 years); assessor; chair and secretary, 17th Ward Democratic Party; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1934; elected to 5 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint Committee to Investigate the Advisability of Flood Walls to Protect Pittsburgh (1937-1938); died while in office, June 14, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
