The committees received testimony from members of the Task Force on Child Protection that was created by H.R. 522 (Marsico) and S.R. 250 (Ward) of 2011. The purpose of the hearing was to accept and review the Report of the Task Force on Child Protection.
The committee received testimony on the following legislation regarding the reporting of child abuse in the Commonwealth: H.B.429 (Watson); H.B. 430 (Watson); H.B. 431 (Gingrich); H.B 432 (Gingrich); and H.B. 436 (Stephens).
The committee received testimony regarding legislation to enhance child protection in the Commonwealth, including HB 433 (Aument), 434 (Maloney), and HB 435 (Moul).
The committee received testimony regarding H.B. 726 (Petri), which would amend Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in child protective services, further provide for definitions and for investigation of reports; and provide for factors to consider when investigating child abuse.
