The committees received testimony from members of the Task Force on Child Protection that was created by H.R. 522 (Marsico) and S.R. 250 (Ward) of 2011. The purpose of the hearing was to accept and review the Report of the Task Force on Child Protection.
The committee received testimony on S.B. 333 (Pileggi), which is a Joint Resolution proposing integrated amendments to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, eliminating the Traffic Court of Philadelphia; and S.B. 334 (Pilleggi), which would amend Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the PA Consolidated Statutes, further provide for the makeup, jurisdiction and venue of the Philadelphia Municipal Court; and restrict and eliminate the Traffic Court of Philadelphia.
The committee received testimony regarding transparency in litigation involving bankruptcy trusts and H.B. 1150 (Cutler), which would provide for transparency of claims made against asbestos-related bankruptcy trusts, for compensation and allocation of responsibility, for the preservation of resources and for the imposition of liabilities.
The commitee received testimony on H.B. 79 (Harper), which was a Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, further providing for compensation and retirement of justices, judges and justices of the peace.
