Short Title:
An Act providing authorization to certain counties and cities for creation of the Allegheny Regional Asset District as a special purpose areawide unit of local government; creating a governing board for the district; authorizing the district to finance and support civic, recreational, library, sports and other regional assets; empowering the district to issue bonds and notes; authorizing the district to enter into intergovernmental cooperation agreements regarding regional assets; authorizing the imposition of an additional tax on the sale and use of tangible personal property and services; creating a fund; providing for use of the revenues generated by the additional tax; providing for reduction of local taxes; and making repeals.
