Subject: | Resolution Recognizing the 20th Anniversary of Pennsylvania's Living Independence for the Elderly Program |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the 20th anniversary of Pennsylvania’s Living Independence for the Elderly, or LIFE program. The LIFE program enables individuals who are 55 years of age and older and who qualify for nursing home care to remain in their homes and in the community, by providing a comprehensive array of health and support services. A joint Medicare/Medicaid program, LIFE serves communities throughout Pennsylvania – with the program becoming available to more seniors all the time. Pennsylvania’s LIFE program, known nationally as the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is one of the largest in the country. Pennsylvania’s program has been a model for other states for decades. Please consider joining me in cosponsoring this resolution and celebrating the LIFE program’s 20 successful years in Pennsylvania! |
