MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 6, 2017 10:51 AM
From: Senator Lisa M. Boscola
To: All Senate members
Subject: Resolution - Sept. as Vertebral Subluxation Awareness Month

In the near future, I intend to reintroduce my resolution designating September 2017 as “Vertebral Subluxation Awareness Month” in the Commonwealth.

This resolution encourages the health and optimal performance of one's body, which is dependent upon unfettered neurotransmission between the brain and all of the body's cells, tissues and organs. Chiropractic doctors are the appropriate licensed healthcare professionals trained in locating, analyzing and correcting a vertebral subluxation, which occurs when a vertebra is found to be misaligned.

A vertebral subluxation impinges on a nerve, occludes an opening or otherwise interferes with proper neurotransmission. Therefore, my resolution commends and recognizes the Chiropractic Fellowship of Pennsylvania for its educational and health care efforts in correcting and addressing these ailments.

The month of September’s designation is significant because it commemorates the first chiropractic adjustment given to specifically correct a subluxation on September 18, 1895 in Davenport, Iowa by D.D. Palmer.

I invite you to join me in co-sponsoring this resolution.
