MEMORANDUM

Posted: August 23, 2017 10:46 AM
From: Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr.
To: All Senate members
Subject: Resolution Recognizing September as Brain Aneurysm Month

I plan to introduce a Resolution which would designate September, 2017, as “Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania.

An estimated 1 out of every 50 people in the United States has a brain aneurysm, and there are typically no warning signs. Aneurysms are most likely to occur in people between the ages of 35 and 60. Each year, between 3,000 and 4,500 people in the United States with a ruptured brain aneurysm die before reaching the hospital.

I have participated in the annual Pittsburgh Brain Aneurysm Run/Walk in the past which was established to raise funding and awareness of the issue. Please join me in recognizing the organizers, volunteers and participants who work tirelessly to support efforts to research and address this serious condition.
