Subject: | Senior Lifetime Hunting License |
I will soon be introducing legislation to amend Title 34 (Game) to “grandfather” hunters who have purchased a resident senior lifetime hunting license before July 1, 2017 so they will still be able to hunt pheasants without having to purchase an Adult Pheasant Permit. As you are aware, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has established a pheasant-hunting permit for all adult hunters, including those who held a senior license, to help cover the costs of raising and stocking pheasants. Previously, a senior lifetime hunting license included the ability to hunt pheasants without additional permits or costs. A constituent of mine recently brought this issue to my attention. The intention of this proposed legislation is to preserve the parameters that were in place at the time the license was purchased by the senior hunter. Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation. |
