Subject: DHHS Legislative Oversight Commission
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that will establish a Department of Health and Human Services Legislative Oversight Commission.

In the event the consolidation occurs, the Commission will oversee the merger of the Departments of Human Services, Health, Aging and Drug and Alcohol Programs in Pennsylvania. It will have regularly scheduled meetings to review testimony from stakeholders, consolidations in other states and make recommendations to the General Assembly.

It is my hope the Commission will bring transparency and accountability to this consolidation process.
