Subject: | Military Spouse Day - May 12 |
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution designating May 12, 2017, as "Military Spouse Day" in Pennsylvania. Military Spouse Day was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 as a day to recognize the contributions made by military spouses to the well being of soldiers and military communities. Today’s military spouses, both men and women, often endure long separations from their loved ones. Many times these husbands and wives are left to singlehandedly take care of their children, homes, as well as their own careers. Please join us in honoring the commitment military spouses have made to their loved ones by signing on as a co-sponsor of this resolution. Last session, SR 350 was sponsored by Senators Teplitz, Browne, Costa, Farnese, Folmer, Fontana, Greenleaf, Haywood, Hughes, Hutchinson, Kitchen, Rafferty, Reschenthaler, Sabatina, Scarnati, Schwank, Vulakovich, Ward. If you have any questions, please contact Nate Silcox (Sen. Vulakovich) at 717-787-6538. |
