Subject: | Reintroduction of Legislation – Creating a Special Honorary Consul License Plate |
I am planning on reintroducing legislation (SB 391) that would create a license plate for a registered owner who is an honorary consul or official representative of any foreign government. Specifically, the legislation would require the honorary consul or official representative to be a citizen of the United States, pay all required vehicle license fees and provide a copy of an honorary consul identification card in order to obtain such a plate. It is also important to note that, unlike diplomatic license plates issued by the US Department of State, this plate would in no way confer diplomatic immunity on the vehicle. Should you have any questions about this bill, please contact my office at 717-787-7105. |
