Subject: Establishing the Domestic Violence Judicial Education Act
 
In the near future, I will be re-introducing legislation introduced as Senate Bill 1345 in the prior legislative session. This legislation will establish the Domestic Violence Judicial Education Act.

It is my belief that judges would benefit from an educational program administered by the Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts with respect to domestic violence. This program will include but not be limited to training by college professors, law school professors, and mental health care professionals.

This legislation was cosponsored last session by Senators Baker, Costa, McIlhinney, Boscola, Fontana, Williams, Yudichak, Tartaglione and Farnese.
