Subject: Resolution – Military Spouse Day
 
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution designating May 6, 2016 as Military Spouse Day in Pennsylvania. Military Spouse Day was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 as a day to recognize the contributions made by military spouses to the well being of soldiers and military communities.

Today’s military spouses, both men and women, often endure long separations from their loved ones. Many times these husbands and wives are left to singlehandedly take care of their children, homes, as well as their own careers.

Please join me in honoring the commitment military spouses have made to their loved ones by signing on as a co-sponsor of this resolution.
