Subject: Stand With Israel
 
The State of Israel is the only dependable, democratic ally of the United States in the Middle East. It is in the interest of this Commonwealth to promote America’s close ties with Israel. Unfortunately, there is a growing and alarming trend on some college and university campuses to launch politically-motivated attacks with the intent of pressuring these institutions of higher education to engage in boycotts against or divestment from Israel.

To discourage such actions in Pennsylvania, I plan to introduce legislation amending the Public School Code of 1949 by adding a new article which would prohibit the Commonwealth from providing funding of any kind to an institution of higher education that engages in a boycott against or divestment from Israel. Please join me in standing with Israel.

Representative Steven Santarsiero has sponsored similar legislation (House Bill 1018) in the House of Representatives.
