Subject: | Resolution Recognizing April 22, 2015, as "Earth Day" in Pennsylvania |
The first "Earth Day" celebration was held on April 22, 1970. This event united millions of Americans who were concerned about the environmental issues facing the country. This concern led to political action and the adoption of many of our important environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. On April 22 many schools and communities in Pennsylvania will hold educational events and activities to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability. In recognition of this important day, please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
