Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 31, 2015 03:42 PM
From: Senator Thomas J. McGarrigle
To: All Senate members
Subject: Resolution Supporting the U.S. Export-Import Bank

Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution in support of the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

As the official export credit agency of the United States, the Ex-Im Bank assists in financing U.S. exports from thousands of American companies and bolsters our global competitiveness. Nearly 90 percent of the Export-Import Bank's transactions directly support U.S. small business. Manufacturers in Pennsylvania and the United States – and their customers overseas – operate based on long-term plans that often involve multiyear projects in which the Ex-Im Bank is a critical partner. Without the certainty of a long-term Ex-Im reauthorization by Congress, U.S. exporters will continue to be put at a significant disadvantage, which will hamper growth here at home and result in lost opportunities for American workers and small businesses.

The Export-Import Bank has benefited hundreds of Pennsylvania companies from all corners of the state including: Bedford Reinforced Plastics (Bedford County), Oak Hill Veneer (Bradford County), Lockheed Martin (Bucks County), Ipeg Inc. (Butler County), The Boeing Company (Delaware County), All American Hose (Erie County), Mack Trucks (Lehigh County), Wallquest (Montgomery County), Bassett Ice Cream (Philadelphia), Copperhead Chemical (Schuylkill County), Kuhns Bros. Lumber (Union County), Xcoal Energy (Westmoreland County), and Triumph Apparel Corporation (York County).

I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution and send a clear message to Congress that Pennsylvania supports its manufacturers.
