Subject: | Study to Analyze Cost-Benefit of School Consolidation and/or Administrative Consolidation |
In the near future I intend on introducing two resolutions requesting the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee study the cost-effectiveness of consolidating school districts and/or administrative functions. This is similar to the memo I sent out last month. I would like to thank those members who supported that initiative but that memo is being pulled in favor of this revamped approach. My goal is to achieve maximum cost savings, be it by reducing the number of school districts in the Commonwealth or by consolidating administrative functions at the county level. I believe there is a way for the Commonwealth to not only achieve significant savings through consolidation but to offer a better education as well. Don't ALL of our students deserve that? Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution. If you have any questions, please contact Josh Myers of my staff at 787-5400 or by email at jmyers@pasenate.com. Thank you for your consideration. |
