Subject: Designation of the Helfrick Resources Management Center
 
Prior to his retirement in 2003, my predecessor, Sen. Edward Helfrick, worked with Aqua America and several conservation organizations to establish the Roaring Creek Tract of the Weiser State Forest in Northumberland and Columbia Counties. Recently, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources completed construction of a Resource Management Center within the tract.
Because of his involvement in the establishment of the forest and his well-known love of the outdoors, I am introducing legislation naming the new center the Edward W. Helfrick Resource Management Center.
I invite your co-sponsorship of this legislation to honor our former colleague.
