Subject: | Philadelphia City Wage Tax cap |
I am re-introducing legislation from last session that would improve the business climate in Pennsylvania. This bill would cap the Philadelphia City Wage Tax at its current rate of 3.928% for residents and 3.4985% for nonresidents. The city could choose to lower the rate, but they will not be able to increase the rate. The City Wage Tax has been considered a job crushing tax by many in the business community. By capping the tax, we can ensure that Philadelphia will remain a competitive place for businesses and jobs. If you have any questions regarding this legislation, please do not hesitate to contact my Harrisburg office at 717-787-9608. Thank you. |
