Subject: | Steer Clear, Move Over Month |
In the near future, I plan on introducing a resolution designating the month of September 2016 as "Steer Clear, Move Over Month" in Pennsylvania to promote the importance of protecting motorists and others. The "Steer Clear" law went into effect in 2006 and requires motorists to move over a lane or reduce their speed when they encounter a disabled vehicle or emergency scene. Also, the law requires motorists to move over to the nonadjacent lane or slow down if they are not able to move over safely. Failure to obey this law can result in a fine as well as a license suspension. The "Steer Clear" law makes the roads of the Commonwealth safer for motorists, law enforcement and first responders. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution designating September as "Steer Clear, Move Over Month" in Pennsylvania to promote the continued protection of motorists. If you have any questions, please contact Josh Myers at jmyers@pasenate.com or 717-787-5400. Thank you for your consideration. |
