Subject:	Memo #15 -- Resolution marking October 2015 as National Principals Month in Pennsylvania

In the near future, I plan to introduce a Senate resolution marking October 2015 as National Principals Month in Pennsylvania. The National Association of Secondary School Principals and the National Association of Elementary School Principals have been marking October as National Principals Month since 2009. About 5,000 principals work in Pennsylvania schools. Their job requires them to be educational visionaries, instructional and assessment leaders, disciplinarians, community builders, budget analysts, facilities manager and administrators of legal and contractual obligations. Principals perform a very challenging job working with a wide variety of students and parents. Their main focus is always on advancing the learning of every child.
