Subject: | Resolution Urging Congress to Further Appropriate for Military Salary Increases |
In the near future, I plan on introducing a resolution that would urge Congress to appropriate a larger salary increase than the 1% raise that was approved by the President that would take effect in 2015. We can do better for our men and women defending our country at home and abroad. I understand that our nation is going through tough economic times, but we need to at least give our military an increase that is close to the rate of inflation. This resolution would urge Congress to appropriate a 2% salary increase that would keep up with the rate of inflation and most importantly support our armed forces. This is a fair increase because the rate of inflation is believed to be higher than that. Thank you for considering this important resolution.
