Subject: 35th Anniversary PA Commission on Sentencing
 
In the very near future, we will be introducing a Resolution recognizing the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing on its 35th Anniversary.

The primary purpose of the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing was the creation of a consistent and rational Statewide sentencing policy that would increase sentencing severity for serious crimes and promote fairness and uniformity in sentencing practices.

Commonwealth judges utilize the guidelines as a common reference point for sentencing similar offenders convicted of similar crimes.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this Resolution.

Introduced as SR425
