Subject: | Resolution - 100th Anniversary of the Dauphin County Library System |
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution to celebrate the Dauphin County Library System on its 100th anniversary. On January 1, 1914, the Harrisburg Public Library first opened its doors to thousands of eager citizens. Today that library, along with seven others, comprises the Dauphin County Library System. In 2012, the Dauphin County Library System welcomed more than 771,000 visitors, lent more than 1.25 million items to its 119,430 cardholders. To celebrate the 100th birthday, the Dauphin County Library System will be hosting an event on April 12, 2014. Please join us in the celebration of this continuous history of public library service by signing on as a co-sponsor of this resolution. |
