Subject: Resolution – Adoption Awareness Month (November)
 
In the near future, I plan on introducing a resolution designating the month of November as “Adoption Awareness Month.”

We all know that family is the foundation of any society, and that children need the permanent love, care, and protection of a family to grow into healthy, productive adults. Unfortunately, every year, hundreds of children find themselves in need of a home, safety and nurturing. In 2012, there were 1,924 children in Pennsylvania waiting to be adopted.

I ask that you please join me in sponsoring this resolution and in recognizing the hard work of both public and private adoption agencies and their commitment to the needs of children throughout the Commonwealth.
