Subject: | Resolution – Pennsylvania Career Development Day |
In the near future, I plan on introducing a resolution designating November 13, 2013 as “Pennsylvania Career Development Day.” In today’s economy, all students must graduate high school ready to succeed in college and their careers. Research predicts that within the next 10 years, 3% of all jobs in the Nation will require some postsecondary education and that 90% of new jobs in growing industries with high wages will require some postsecondary education. Not only will a higher level of employment translate into higher wages for workers, but it will also help bolster Pennsylvania’s economic vitality. Please join me in sponsoring this legislation and acknowledging organizations, like the Capitol Region Partnership for Career Development, who fulfill the critical needs of workforce development within the Commonwealth. |
