Subject: Resolution in Support of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution in support of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh’s efforts towards independence and democratic governance.

Located in the South Caucuses, the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh has operated as an independent state since 1991. Local legislatures and the people have repeatedly voted for independence and in 2012 a presidential election was carried out that international observers declared free and transparent.

The United States Senate has also expressed its support for the legitimate democratic aspirations of the people of Nagorno Karabakh. Please join me in supporting the Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s efforts to develop as a free and independent nation.
