Subject: Co-Sponsorship: National Disability Employment Awareness Month
 
In the near future, I intend to introduce a resolution recognizing the month of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month in Pennsylvania.

More than twenty years after the signing of the American’s with Disabilities Act, individuals with disabilities, including veterans, are making immeasurable contributions to the workforce. Millions of Americans live with disabilities each day, and many others will become disabled at some point in their lives.

By designating October 2013 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we enable all Pennsylvanians to recognize the contributions of Pennsylvanians with disabilities and encourage all citizens to ensure equal opportunities in the workforce for those with disabilities.

Introduced as SR208
