Subject: Memo #27 -- Children’s Grief Awareness Day Resolution
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a Senate Resolution declaring November 21, 2013, as Children’s Grief Awareness Day in Pennsylvania.

The Highmark Caring Places has been providing a helpful place for grieving children, adolescents and their families throughout Pennsylvania. Children who have had a loved one die, especially a close family member, can carry that loss with them forever unless they get help to work through their grief. One in 20 children will have a parent die by the time they turn 18.
