Subject: Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility
 
In the near future, I will be reintroducing SB 918 of the 2011-12 legislative session, which increases the minimum amount of insurance an individual would be required to carry on an automobile policy, in part to adjust for the rate of inflation.

Under current law, a person is required to carry insurance for bodily injury in the amount of $15,000 per person/$30,000 per accident and $5,000 for property damage. My legislation would increase those amounts to a minimum of $30,000 per person/$60,000 per accident and a minimum of $10,000 for property damage.

Previous co-sponsors were Senators Tartaglione, Leach and Fontana.
