Subject: | Resolution Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 911th Airlift Wing |
In the near future I will be introducing a resolution celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the United States Air Force Reserve 911th Airlift Wing, located in Moon Township Allegheny County. The 911th traces its history to January 19, 1963, when the 911th Troop Carrier Group was activated to administer the 758th Troop Carrier Squadron flying the C-119 Flying Boxcar. In the 50 years since its inception the 911th Airlift Wing has participated in numerous military actions as well as taking part in domestic disaster relief and international humanitarian relief efforts. The 911th aircrews and support personnel currently operate C-130H Hercules aircraft. The installation has approximately 1,200 reserve personnel assigned to it as well as over 300 civilian employees. Throughout its 50 year history the 911th Airlift Wing has played an integral part in our nations defense as well as played an important role in the Western Pennsylvania community at large. Please join me in supporting this resolution honoring the 911th Airlift Wing on its 50th Anniversary. If you have questions about this resolution, please contact Tim Golding in my office at 717-787-5839 or tgolding@pasenate.com. |
