Subject: | Farmers Market Food Safety Licenses |
In the near future, I intend to introduce a bill amending Title Code 3 (Agriculture – Chapter 57) that will allow the Department of Agriculture to issue a single, state-wide license to the owner of a mobile retail food facility. As the law currently stands, farmers who wish to sell crops at various farmers markets are required to purchase a license in each food safety jurisdiction. This is an expensive venture that has proven unnecessary. Additionally, this bill will still require food safety inspections at every facility. If you have any questions regarding this bill, please contact Mike Rader at 787-3076. |
Introduced as SB996
