Subject: Recognizing June as Dairy Month in Pennsylvania
 
I will be reintroducing a resolution commemorating the month of June 2013, as “Dairy Farmers Appreciation Month in Pennsylvania.”

Dairy Farming is the primary economic driver behind the number one industry in Pennsylvania, a proud family tradition where 98% of dairy farms are owned by families and depend on family labor. Dairy farming is a demanding way of life that requires healthy workers with a strong work ethic in order to produce the high-quality milk and other nutritional products enjoyed by Pennsylvania families. This resolution will pay tribute and recognition to the outstanding contributions of Pennsylvania’s dairy farmers to the historical, cultural, environmental and economic success of this Commonwealth.

For 2012, I introduced SR 324 cosponsored by Senators Alloway, Argall, Baker, Boscola, Browne, Brubaker, Dinniman, Earll, Erickson, Ferlo, Fontana, Greenleaf, Kasunic, Mensch, Pileggi, Rafferty, Robbins, Scarnati, Schwank, Solobay, Stack, Tartaglione, Ward, Waugh, D. White, Wozniak, and Yaw.

Introduced as SR160
