Subject: | License Plates for Honorary Consuls |
In the near future I will be introducing legislation to allow PennDOT to provide special license plates for Honorary Consuls in Pennsylvania. Honorary Consuls are appointed by the country they represent to be a point of contact in cities that may not have full diplomatic missions. They can provide some of the services of an embassy and help promote the country they represent in the cities where they live. My legislation will not confer any special privileges or immunities on Honorary Consuls; it will simply allow them to be recognized by using a special license plate denoting their title. The special plate will cost $20 and will be similar to the majority of other states that have such programs. |
