Subject:	Co-Sponsorship: Historic Preservation Month in Pennsylvania

I will be introducing a resolution commemorating May as “Historic Preservation Month in Pennsylvania.” The National Trust for Historic Preservation dedicates May to raising awareness for preservation issues. The Mission of the National Trust for Historic Preservation is to provide support and encouragement for grassroots preservation efforts. Pennsylvania is rich in history and works diligently through Preservation Pennsylvania, established in 1982, to preserve our Commonwealth’s heritage through the restoration and rehabilitation of historic properties. Preservation efforts go beyond saving old buildings and telling the story of the past; it also enhances our sense of community and brings us closer together. Pennsylvania is the birthplace of our great nation and has a long story to share with American citizens and the world.
