Subject: | Removal of PA Game Commissions Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) on Public Lands |
In the near future I will introduce legislation to remove the PA Game Commissions Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) from public lands throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The number of hunters throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have decreased dramatically over the past years. Over the last few months, I have visited many of the sportman's clubs in my district and the sportsmen feel that the decline in numbers of hunters has a direct correlation with the number of deer in the woods or lack of deer in the woods; and that DMAP tags have been a major factor in the reduction of the deer herd throughout the Commonwealth. My legislation will state that publicly owned lands within this Commonwealth are not eligible for inclusion in any Deer Manangement Assistance Program Area. |
