Subject: National Tourism Week Resolution
 
In the near future, Senator Ward and I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the week of May 4 through 12, 2013, as “National Tourism Week” in Pennsylvania.

National Tourism Week is designed to draw attention to and recognize the economic, social and cultural impacts of tourism in Pennsylvania and the United States. Tourism is a vital industry in our state, contributing approximately $37.2 billion in visitor spending and creating over 461,000 jobs.

I hope you’ll please join us in acknowledging and celebrating the role tourism plays in the lives for citizens of our state and the economy of Pennsylvania.
