Subject: Resolution -- Hemophilia Awareness Month in Pennsylvania
 

I plan to introduce a resolution designating the month of April 2013 as "Hemophilia Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.

Hemophilia is a genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to control bleeding. More than 20,000 individuals live with this disorder, including about 1,760 in Pennsylvania. There is currently no cure for hemophilia, and patients must endure lifelong treatment.
