Subject: PA Liquor Control Board - Extension of Sunday Sales and Hours
 
I plan to introduce legislation which would amend the Liquor Code to remove the Sunday sales restriction and extend Sunday sales hours.

Currently, twenty-five percent (or about 160) stores are permitted to be open on Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m.

My legislation would allow PLCB to open additional stores on Sundays and extend the hours for those stores from noon to 9:00 p.m. The Board would open as many stores as it deems necessary, taking into consideration consumer demand.

Based on PLCB’s estimates, the expansion of Sunday sales could generate between $10 and $15 million dollars annually in additional profits.
