Subject: | Excluding veterans’ service-related disability compensation from being considered as income |
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce legislation amending the State Lottery Law to exclude veterans’ service-related disability compensation from being considered as income when determining eligibility for PACE and PACENET. Veterans who experienced a service-incurred injury qualify for certain disability payments. They depend on this fixed source of income to support themselves and their families due to their inability to continue working. My bill would exempt veterans’ service-related disability assistance from counting as income for PACE and PACENET eligibility. This is a reintroduction of SB 765 from the previous legislative session.
